About us

The PBC Connection is an initiative by NHS Networks, the health network enabler, to bring together stakeholders in practice-based commissioning.

Our aim is to enable PCT senior management and commissioners, clinicians, practice managers, patient groups and other interested parties to create a single platform for debate, discussion and sharing of good practice.

"The PBC Connection will work across the NHS to unite PBC stakeholders, share intelligence and develop ideas. "If PBC stakeholders don't even talk to each other, the prospects of deeper, more meaningful collaboration are remote."

Edna Robinson, national lead, NHS Networks

Aims of the PBC Connection

  • Create a collaborative network of key players in PBC
  • Collect and disseminate good practice
  • Provide a sounding board for policy makers and service champions
  • Reach PBC implementers and consumers in a non-hierarchical way
  • To provide real-time feedback and information for all stakeholders to access
  • Help make connections for both PCTs and practices with providers of development support
  • Provide a hub for PBC intelligence and resources online
  • Coordinate events and workshops
